Layers in my behaviours and my motivators

How my intentions show up as behaviour — a self-discovery exercise

Dissecting my work style and/or breathing as a human, I attempt to understand myself a little better.

To understand myself > understand others better > useful for caring for others > have fun together

Looks like a good win for me, let’s go.

Right on the surface

At work, as I take decisions with teams,

  • I help by solving problems mindfully

Then I show & practise these behaviours

  • I ask a bunch of questions: go curious, go critical and go deep
  • I listen👂🏽
  • I rally to use experiments 🧪 Hard decisions are hard, let’s learn together
  • I convert experiences into lessons learned

Invisible layers

This layer is tricky, sometimes I am unaware of all of them but I am going to give it a shot here. These are the beacons for why I do what I do:

  • Choose to be Kind 🌻 make requests, not demands
  • Diminishing or Enlarging myself/others: Figure what is the job-to-be-done here when making decisions
  • Show up with Empathy: listen + learn from the disagreeing parties > take decisions
  • 🙋🏽‍♀️ Giving & Taking: weighing the wins and the consequences

At the core

Going deeper, embedding these intentions

  • 💪🏾 I give value to feel useful
  • 👭 I value relationships to feel connected to others
  • 🙌🏼 I value teamwork to feel I belong

I definitely have no data to back this up (still), it’s a playful way to put concepts into words for now 🌈

How can this be helpful to others? To try this mental gym out on your own / with friends, for fun and to build something bigger together.

How else can I move deeper into self-discovery? I would love to start a conversation with you 🦋
